台灣早期屬於移民社會,人們多來自海外,但由於當時航海技術的不甚發達,渡海來台的風險極高,此外,來台後也多有水土不服、治安等問題,因此宗教信仰便成為人們的精神寄託,而除了慶典與祭祖外,人們相當重視傳統節日,也會準備各種食物和表演,久而久之,廟會活動已然成為台灣的特有文化。
              《供品》這組作品呈現了台灣的供品文化,主要以簡單的線條與形狀,清晰穩定的手法拍攝,不參雜多餘的元素,使觀眾能在寧靜的氛圍下細細品味背後的文化脈絡。從古至今所使用的供品皆具有歷史意涵,背後意義多源自於諺語、風水、語言等民俗文化,但無論哪種供品,其目的多圍繞著對自己學業、事業、姻緣、健康、財富的期待。
    The series works of “Offerings” present the offering culture of Taiwan. They are mainly presented in simple lines and shapes while being taken with clear and steady techniques. No unnecessary elements are included in them, enabling audiences to taste the cultural contexts they embrace in detail under tranquil atmosphere. All offerings used from past to present have their historical meanings, in which many of them originate from old sayings, Feng Shui (geomancy), literature and other folk cultures. However, no matter what kinds of offering one presents, people mainly present them with the expectation of fulfill their anticipation on studying, career, marriage, health and wealth.
    Taiwan in its early days is an immigrant society and most people came from oversea. Given that the navigation technology was relatively undeveloped, there are many risks for traveling to Taiwan by sea. Moreover, people also suffered from non-acclimatization and bad public security after they have moved here. Therefore, religions have become their spiritual sustenance. Besides celebrations and ancestor worshipping, people also pay great attention to traditional festivals, in which they would arrange all sorts of foods and performance. In the course of time, worshipping events held by temples have become a unique culture of Taiwan.
